Job Description
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in construction or occupational safety and health or related field.
2 to 3 years of previous experience as safety officer in comprehensive workplace safety.
Support the development of OHS policies and programs.
Advise and instruct on various safety related topics.
Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and foreign workers.
Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues e.g nor using protective equipment.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and walk throughout the workday.
Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
Ensure statutes, regulations, and codes are clearly understood and met.
Comply with all occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines.
